Local woman has Christmas covered by ParkingPerx

Louise Morrison from West Denton has won £2,500 worth of prizes thanks to ParkingPerx, as we celebrate the launch of the new loyalty app in Sunderland this month.

The prize included £1,000 in cash and £1,500 worth of vouchers to spend at high street retailers in Sunderland including M&S, Primark, XBOX, Sunderland Bowl, River Island and Foot Locker.

Louise said:

“I am absolutely over the moon! My son has been self-isolating so I haven’t been able to do much of my Christmas shopping yet and so this is just so brilliant. I couldn’t believe it when I got the call – I thought it was a joke!

“It’s been a tough year for many this year and this has made my year that much better. I’m going to get some gifts for my family, get my Christmas shopping finished and then treat myself!”

ParkingPerx rewards shoppers with free parking when they spend in participating stores and went live in Sunderland this month. Ashington born Chris Reed, founder of ParkingPerx, impressed the panel on BBC Dragons’ Den with his business idea and secured investment from Jenny Campbell following his pitch.

Chris said:

“We’re thrilled Louise has won and she will be spending the prize in the local area.

“Like many towns and cities across the country, Sunderland has seen a significant drop in footfall over recent months and this has had a significant impact on the local economy. Research shows that people are willing to support their local high street but parking fees continue to be a barrier to trade for town centres.

“We are working in partnership with the Bridges and Sunderland City Council, and have the backing of many national and local brands to reward shoppers who choose to support the city centre.”

ParkingPerx is available now to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.
